Survey, Seasonal Depression, and Psychedelic Colors

There’s this cheesy $1 poster I have on my wall that says, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”

A rainbow poster with colorful letters that reads, "if it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you" in a speech bubble.

I have been feeling both stuck and full of ideas this past month since my last collection launched. You know that feeling where you have SO many ideas and nowhere to start? It’s been hard for me to figure out what to focus on first, and unfortunately when that happens, I tend to shut down and do nothing.

But reading that phrase reminds me of my larger goals - to be a full time artist (by next year?) and be home for my family when they need me. And so I push.

I am shifting gears and thinking about the holiday season. The first thing I’m going to be working on are ART PRINTS! I have the fancy art printer, and I took an amazing course called Art to Print by an artist that I adore, and so am working on getting some prints ready for sale.

That being said, I’d LOVE if you’d take a minute to answer the below question so I can get a feel for which pieces you all would like in your homes.

Second, I’m thinking about holiday decor and gifts. I don’t think I’m going the commission and customizable route this season, but I have some things in my mind that I think you all would really like if you like my work. I did some playing around with some new styles. I’m really liking the results and I think they’ll work well with my ideas for the holidays.

I’m going to say this will be the perfect mash up of an 80s winter in Lisa Frank’s house.

I also think I’m starting to feel the seasonal depression coming back. I am not a huge fan of the searing heat of the summer, but the shorter days and colder nights just make me feel blah inside. What do you do when you are feeling this way? I’d love to know what helps!

Anyway, I keep working and pushing and creating no matter what because that is what keeps me going. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

As always, please excuse any typos in this blog post. Me and my autocorrect/spell check do our best, but we do occasionally miss something. Thanks for understanding!
